You won’t find a better deal on quality hosting anywhere…plus domains are $1.95.
Websites are valuable promotional tools and every author should have one. A website will help you to increase your book’s visibility across the internet. You can also use it to gather names and emails for your mailing, as well as give your fans a gathering place to find out the latest information about your books and communicate with you.
Unfortunately, they can also be a pain to set-up when you’d rather be working on your latest novel. So I’m here to help. I’ve set up scores of WordPress sites and I’d be happy to get your site up and running for you.
Here’s what I’ll do:
- Install WordPress on your new self-hosted domain from HostGator.
- Install the Theme of Your Choice.
- Change your NameServers if you already have your own domain. (Don’t worry if you don’t know what this is!)
- Install a starter set of WordPress Plugins to optimize your site. (These are the Plugins I recommend on my site and in The Self Publishing Toolkit.)
- Set Up your website’s email and forwarders, if you wish.
- Provide you with tutorials that will tell you how to post to your new site & update your plugins. I’ll also include instructions on how to change your passwords after I have completed set-up.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Get your own (new) hosting and domain through HostGator. (Domains are $1.95 & Hosting is half off today only.)
- Pick a theme. If you don’t pick a theme, I’ll set you up with the default theme Twenty Eleven (which is a great option.)
- Fill out this Form which outlines the information you need to send me so I can set your site up correctly.
- Create content for your site and upload it. (I’ll set you up with tutorials on how to post and add images.)
So, What’s the Catch?
I am offering to do this for free as long as you purchase a new hosting account from HostGator. (HostGator will pay me a referral fee but that comes out of their pocket, not yours.) You get great hosting for a great price (I use them myself or I wouldn’t be recommending them.) I recommend the Baby plan for the best value and flexibility.
Let’s Get Started!
1. Go to HostGator and get your Hosting
2. Check Your Email for a Welcome Email from HostGator. You will need the information to fill out the form in the next step.
3. Fill out this form and send it to me!
